Nail Technician Hybrid Program – 150 Hours
At Veronica’s Nail Art Salon & Academy, our primary objective is to equip students with a comprehensive education program that aligns with current industry trends, utilizing high-quality professional tools. Our Nail Technician Program is meticulously designed to cultivate essential skills and knowledge.
The nail technician program also emphasizes on developing the professional attitude necessary for successfully passing the Virginia State Board Examination and achieving the student’s competency for entry-level positions as a Manicurist, Nail Technician, or in related fields.
This program is classified as hybrid, combining online and in-person education.
86 HOURS THEORY ONLINE EDUCATION
- Understanding state laws, regulations, and professional ethics.
- Health and public safety practices, including sterilization, sanitation, bacteriology, and safety protocols.
- Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology.
- Identification of nail diseases and disorders.
- In-depth nail theory, structure, and composition.
- Practical nail services, including manicuring, pedicuring, electric filing, application of nail tips and forms, as well as the use of nail resin systems and acrylic and gel enhancements.
64 HOURS PRACTICAL IN PERSON EDUCATION
- Manicuring.
- Pedicuring.
- Electric filling.
- Nail tips and forms.
- Nail resin systems.
- Monomer liquid and polymer powder nail enhancements.
- Gel nail enhancements.
PROGRAM LENGTH
150 hours, including a total of 275 practical performances.
- 86 Hours of Online Theory Education: This self-paced component features open enrollment, allowing students to start at any time throughout the year.
- 64 Hours of Practical Education: focusing on Nail Procedures, will be conducted in person through part-time sessions at Veronica’s Nail Art Salon & Academy.
Classes will be held two days per week (Monday and Wednesday)
Spanish classes 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (no breaks)
English classes 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM (no breaks)

Recommendation: We advise students to begin the online course at least 2 to 3 months prior to the commencement of in-person practical education.

- Age 18 or older
- Valid Driver’s license or Government-issued state ID or passport
- Social Security card (if issued one, if not we use DMV ID number)
- Complete an Application for Admission:

- Pay the Application Fee:
- A non-refundable application fee of $50.00 is required. The application fee is separate from tuition costs and must be paid prior to admission.
- Provide Proof of Identity:
- Acceptable forms of photo identification include:
- Government-issued driver’s license
- Government-issued non-driver ID card
- Government-issued passport
- All photo IDs must meet the following criteria:
- Be an original document (photocopies will not be accepted)
- Be current and valid (expired documents are not acceptable)

Upon approval of your application for admission, the following costs will apply:
Total Initial Payment
To begin the course, the total initial payment of $1,150.00 is required, which includes:
- $50 Application Fee
- $1,000 Tuition Deposit
- $100 for Textbooks ( Milady Standard nail technology 8th edition and Milady Standard Foundations 8th edition)
*The E-File (nail drill) is not included in the kit, but is available for purchase separately.
**Please note that the fees for the Virginia state exam and the licensing kit for the state board practical exam are not included in the tuition.
*** The kits and supplies provided are of professional, top-of-the-line quality. Included brands, among others, are Ugly Duckling Nails, Staleks, and Christrio Nails.
Veronica’s Nail Art Salon & Academy offers a flexible payment plan with no credit check required for the remaining Tuition Amount of $3,250.00 (after $1,000 tuition deposit has been paid)
The remaining tuition balance will be divided into 5 monthly payments of $650 each, which are due by the first of each month, starting on the first day of the month following the granting admission and access to the Theory Online Education.
Kit and Supplies: A kit must be purchased before the start of the Practical in person Course, totaling $1,500.00.
